The Bible is wisdom literature. Not just the wisdom books (Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes) but the entire Bible with it's diverse literary styles is the medium for God's wisdom to be conveyed to us. All of these texts are aimed at character formation - shaping a person or community to see the world in a certain way and to live in the world in a certain way - to live as truly human!
